With reference to the correspondence noted

in the margin, I have the honour to inform you that owing to the mistake made in appointing hisses Skinner, Holmes and Cooper on a salary of (4 £200 rising to £230 per amwa an

anomalous position has arisen in thot Misses Skinner and Cooper are now entitled to draw a higher rate of salary then two ladies who are considerably senior to the in service.

I propose therefore, subject to your approval, to make the salary of the post £200 rising to £230 per annum for all present and future appointments and in the case of unmarried ladies to grant the... free quarters or an allowance in lieu of 850 per month.

3.

The extra cost to the Government will be

small amounting in 1917 and 1918 to £20 per amun only.
